Accredited Measurements by EMA Confirm that Zinc Nacional Complies with Environmental Regulations

At Zinc Nacional, we remain committed to collaborating in a process of improvement for the benefit of the community and its people. Citizens deserve clarity, truth, and commitment.

For all these reasons, and in strict adherence to the principles of transparency and compliance with environmental regulations, Zinc Nacional has implemented a rigorous and ongoing environmental monitoring system through laboratories accredited by the Mexican Accreditation Entity (EMA). These laboratories have consistently confirmed that our operations remain within the limits established by current regulations.

Regarding emissions, the company regularly monitors in accordance with NOM-043. In 2023, the average level of total suspended particles was 12 mg/m³, well below the maximum permissible limit of 200 mg/m³. Additionally, perimeter air quality evaluations for PM10 and PM2.5 are carried out using certified equipment (Hi-Vol), and these results have also remained within regulatory limits: average PM10 levels ranged from 29 to 51 µg/m³ in 2023 and 2024 respectively (limit: 70 µg/m³), and PM2.5 levels ranged from 15 to 16 µg/m³ (limit: 41 µg/m³).

Zinc Nacional also continuously monitors air quality in the area surrounding its plant, including neighboring communities, and all results have remained below the limits established by current environmental regulations.

These results, the product of independent and systematic evaluations, reflect Zinc Nacional’s regulatory compliance and its ongoing effort to ensure technical certainty, transparency, and responsibility toward its environment.

At Zinc Nacional, we comply with current regulations and acknowledge that there are always opportunities to improve. That is why we will continue to responsibly address the recommendations of PROFEPA, with the goal of reducing our environmental footprint for the benefit of all.

We regret that some state authorities are issuing public statements based on unverified sources or studies lacking accredited methodology, which only generate misinformation and confusion among the public.

We are convinced that only through serious, transparent, and evidence-based technical processes can we move toward real solutions. We call for all evaluations and statements to be based on verified data and dialogue with experts and responsible authorities.
